How to Lodge a Dispute about High Water Charge
Before lodging a dispute about high water charges, you are suggested to follow the steps mentioned on the Advice on High Consumption to detect whether there is leakage in your internal plumbing. In case you still want to raise your dispute, please note the followings:
- Normally, disputes have to be lodged by registered consumers. If you are not the registered consumer of the water account, you have to ask the registered consumer to endorse the dispute before submitting it to this Office. Alternatively, you may take up the consumership of the account and raise the dispute by yourself.
- You may call our customer service officers at WSD Enquiry Hotline, or lodge the dispute in person at any of our Customer Enquiry Centres or by post.
- Please submit the dispute 7 days before the payment due date of the account to avoid the possible imposition of surcharge.
- Upon receipt of your dispute, we will investigate the case. During our investigation, you are not required to pay the charges under dispute but you may be required to pay an interim payment which is normally equivalent to your regular water charge.
- Upon completion of the investigation, we will inform you in writing of the result and adjust the account if necessary. Any overpaid amount after bill adjustment will used to offset future charges of the same water account.
