To foster a sense of appreciation for nature and ecological conservation among the public, guided tours to Tai Tam Waterworks Heritage Trail (Ecology and History) were arranged by Water Supplies Department (WSD) to support the annual event “Hong Kong Biodiversity Festival 2018” organized by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) through the collaboration with government departments and organizations.
On 21 October 2018 and 10 November 2018, about 50 people in total joined the guided tours to Tai Tam Waterworks Heritage Trail. Colleagues of WSD and AFCD introduced the background and significance of various waterworks structures and the rich biodiversity along the Trail. Through the tours, the public learned some of the important milestones in the local waterworks history, and appreciated the local biodiversity and the natural ecology alongside.
