The Aquathlon, which was the first of a kind event organized by Water Supplies Department, was held at the Tseung Kwan O Desalination Plant (TKODP) on 3 November, 2024, and was jointly organized by Water Supplies Department and the Triathlon Association of Hong Kong China . Through the event, the participants learnt more about the desalination plant. The Tseung Kwan O desalination plant is the first facility in Hong Kong to use reverse osmosis technology to supply drinking water. It will help enhance the resilience of Hong Kong’s drinking water supply and provide the public with a reliable new water source that is not affected by climate change.
