In order to introduce the water treatment process to the public and enhance their awareness of water conservation, Ngau Tam Mei Water Treatment Works was open for public visit on 28 November 2009. Visitors were guided on a technical tour of the whole treatment process in action. There were also exhibitions on total water management, leakage management, water science, the Replacement and Rehabilitation of Water Mains Programme, the recently declared waterworks monuments, the Quality Water Recognition Scheme for Buildings and water meters. Visitors enjoyed the tour very much. The numerous positive feedbacks received were most encouraging.
