The water supply to individual flats of a building needs to be suspended during the cleaning of its water tank, thus causing inconvenience to residents. A press briefing was held on 9 February 2010 by the WSD and the Housing Authority (HA) to introduce an innovative twin tank water supply system, which not only allowed continuous water supply for residents during tank cleaning, but also helped conserve water. WSD also took the opportunity to promote the "Quality Water Recognition Scheme for Buildings", which encouraged regular cleaning of water tanks.
